White Wednesday Vacation Finds @ FrenchBleuVintage

I had such an awesome time in North Carolina last week. The weather was gorgeous, the water was warm, the people are charming as all get out, and the BBQ....don't get me started. It was great and I need to get back there very soon. We were in Ocean Island for 6 glorious days, just what I needed to re-charge. The 5 of us enjoyed every minute on the beach. The only time we really left was to head out to Lowes Market (they sell wine right in the store, what a concept). Just when I thought life couldn't get any better, I spotted a thrift shop. I made my mental note and headed back once everyone was happily back on the beach. These are a few of the items I picked up once I figured out how to get back to the shop (3 trips around a very big block) and they were actually open (my first try to get in was not good - CLOSED). The hours were a little erratic but worth it. These tea cups/saucers are just amazing ~ I can never find stuff like this at home. Im also pretty sure the wire rack is for CD's but they wouldn't look as pretty as the saucers do. Most will end up on FrenchBleu's site but hopefully no one will blame me if I hold off on the gorgeous frame ~ you know I have that frame fetish thing going on still.

White Wednesday Tresor's for FrenchBleuVintage~

I was on the hunt for a pair of baseball cleats for son #1. He already has a pair, but apparently 1 pair is not enough. I was not about to pay another $50, so off son #2 and I head to the local Goodwill. Right away, I find a great pair of his size Adidas cleats for $7 ~ score!!! Well, now what to do with all this extra time...hhmmm. Son #2 has got a flair for finding just what Mama likes. He found all the following for me and then some. I haven't decided which items will make it to the FrenchBleuVintage shop, and which will live with me ~ I love them all and can't imagine who didn't have the vision to hold onto these beauties ~ Oh well, my gain. Which is your favorite? I am loving the hobnail ice tea goblets and the "Paris Chocolat" urn. The white triple strand beaded necklace is SO perfect for summer ~ who wouldn't want this stuff ~ Sheer insanity I say. You be the judge.

Happy White Wednesday to all ~ please stop by Faded Charm and check out all the other fabulous White Wednesday Posts.

Bedside Cameos for my Silver Sunday

Hi all ~ and Happy Silver Sunday. I love this new cameo necklace that I found. Its about 28" long a triple strand, and the cameo is etched in glass. Very pretty, not vintage but Victorian in style ~ I love it. Also on my bedtable are these fantastic solder and etched glass trinket boxes. I've received them the past 2 years as Christmas gifts from my husband (I'm pretty sure I hinted strongly with where to buy and item #'s) but the thought was there. The smaller one has a little silver tag that reads "friend". Also, a small crystal and sterling talc shaker that belonged to my Grandmother . Its very pretty but not too practical ~ I run out of powder every 4 days:) Finally, in the bath a small silver clock to remind me I'm taking too long in the morning and that I am missing the SNL monolog with Tina Fey ~ gotta fly! Please check out the other Silver Sunday Sista's and say HI to Beth @ Gypsy Fish.

A work forever in progress....

That is my "Garden" in a nutshell. Who's isn't I guess? But mine, ugh! The early days of Spring always send me running outdoors to see whats going on , on my hill (that's weedy slope to you & me). The past 2 days have been brutally unseasonable hot here (yes, actually hot in CT - 90 degrees) but the poor waterlogged flora loved it ~ everything seemed to burst into color overnight. I love it. I could, quite possibly, have an amazing garden. I have the set-up for it. The vision, but alas, no time. So come Spring, my first phone call is to Mike. He is our garden handyman/gardner. As evidenced by the photos, he has not visited us yet this Spring. Probably this weekend he tells me. I hope so, flowers are barely popping up and I already have counted 7300 weeds ~ that does not count the wild violets, which I consider flowers. Its much colder and rainy here today so I thought it a good idea to get some nice shots of "my work in progress".

Also, never one to miss a moment to self-promote, so: I REEEALY want to head to the Estates Sales and Flea Market this weekend, but "The Man" tells me I have to cut back because my designated stock area is overflowing into his domain. Therefore ~ I have put a TON of items on SALE this week at FrenchBleuVintage and will definately be adding more tonight ~ check it out and support my baaaaad habit or just make the Man happy. Remember the $5.00 off promo code is - frenchbleu01.

Have a great weekend everybody ~

Summer Whites @ FrenchBleuVintage

Okay ~ Its a little early, especially in still slightly chilly New England, but these photos call to mind those great 85 degree days (Im like a cockroach, I thrive in the heat & humidity, can't help it) of mid-summer entertaining.

I LOVE these fabulous white wire pillar candle holders. Also, the ceramic white pillar holder and the flameless turquoise "candle" on it, is so great for outdoor entertaining. Can you tell I'm dying for an outdoor dinner party ~ again, 50 degrees at night is not good enough for me.

Next up ~ always in style, assorted white shell layered necklaces on white wire half bust, so fresh & pretty& summery. I can't wait to start posting about my garden like some of the other fantastic posts I've been reading and drooling over. I'm so jealous. But I can be patient a little while longer if you can.

Happy White Wednesday everyone ~ please swing by Faded Charm and check out the other WW posts and say hello to our host Kathleen.

A Little VBF Bling!!!

Why is it I never think I have anything to share for VBF and then end up having to leave some things out? These Vintage brooches are such a fetish for me ~ there is a vendor at my local Flea that thinks Im crazy to love these so much ~ but pleeez, just look at them!! Although, for me, the best part of this photo is the Oval Black Frog ~
Also picked up these fab little vanity trays ~ waaay cute. I also had to include this great vintage style collage ~ my sentiments exactly.

Happy VBF ~
Dee xoxo
