Inspired by Jeanne d'Arc Living

I really enjoy Jeanne d'Arc Living Magazine. It is a huge extravagance for me to buy a magazine that costs what it does ~ but I can't help it, I'm totally hooked. I don't even care if I get it in another language ~ I just love the photos. They must use a different lens or something ~ the world just looks...better, more soft and filtered...beautiful. And the words, the words are simple.  No big SAT vocabulary words printed here ~ and yet we all get the point. That's if we even bother to read the words. I simply love to get lost in the photos. I like to imagine that one day, I will live there. Wherever there is. I'm not really sure, but I like it. Therefore, I  try to emulate the photos and stills found in the pages and breathe life into them in my home.  I hope you enjoy ~

p.s~ my camera is an embarrassment so please don't expect too much ~ just try to imagine...............

Note to self ~ get a carriage first

I am in shock and awe at what some people get rid of. I work a few days a week about an hours drive from my home. There is a Goodwill in town, but I never usually go there. They tend to price things waaay too high for this girl. But I had an hour to kill waiting out a bad rainstorm so off I went. At first walk around, I didn't see much and was starting to think I should have walked around Pottery Barn instead. Then I went back to the glassware aisle, and there, on the end was this magnificent set. Once I noticed it, I felt the eyes upon me. I seriously wanted to scoop it all up in my arms and scream "MINE MINE MINE....its all MINE" Im really not sure, I may have said it out loud. I only heard the blood rushing through my ears at that point. Then the adrenalin kicked in. My predicament was, I had no carriage. Why oh why do I do that - you know your going to find stuff, why don't you just get a d@#$ carriage. I took a few pieces with me, jumped a few feet away for a carriage - and the vultures descended. I must have given the poor woman the most absolute look of disgust - but she did not give a hoot. She grabbed the 4 coffee mugs and shrugged her shoulders as if to say "shoulda got a carriage first". I grabbed everything else on the shelf and didn't look back.

I seriously hope my customers appreciate the trouble I get myself into finding perfect items to sell in Frenchbleu Vintage. I swear, I know its gonna come to Fist to Cuffs someday. Probably over some white chippy vase or frame. But don't worry, Im scrappy - I'll win. Im linking up with  Show & Tell Friday at My Romantic Home, please check out the other fabulous posts (Link @ sidebar) Also with White Wednesday. Swing on by Faded Charm and get your fill of super white goodness (link on sidebar).

My new favorite "Stuff"

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday.  Today I am linking up with The House in the Roses for Show off your Cottage Monday ~ Link at sidebar. What a lovely Blog Cielo has, I literally was so worn out and tired when I found her last night that I could have fallen asleep in her Rose Garden and woke up among the fairies that reside there.

This lovely photo is of a few new items I bought last weekend at a new shop I found called "Stuff". I immediately fell in love with this new haunt and will be back often. This lovely etched decanter is so elegant. Also ~ this fabulous piece of marble. It comes with 2 black cast iron brackets. I have walked all over my house 20 times and cannot find a spot to put it. I'll just hang onto it until I do. He had some lovely mis-matched silverware (which I am a big sucker for) and also vintage brown transferware.

You can bet that I am heading over to Stuff again very soon. Have a great week everyone.

Here's my Rosette............

This wonderful Rosette that I am featuring for my "Show Off Your Rosettes" Party, comes to me from my BFF Denise Morrison. She is a fantastic paper artist and made me this great little paper Petite Chateau for my birthday, complete with lovely gold rosette. She is such a dear sweet friend, but just lives too darn far away. I love everything she makes me because I know she makes them with her heart first and hands second.

Please swing into The French Cupboard (Link @ sidebar) and show off your Rosettes.

White Hot Vintage!!!

Hi Everybody ~ Welcome to another White Wednesday Installment. This weeks spotlight is on a few Vintage White necklaces and a few other Hot pieces of Summer jewelry. I just think big bright Summer jewelry can be so much fun. You can totally rock adornments you wouldn't normally touch in the cooler months. This orange bakelite stretch bracelet is amazing ~ I love orange accessories in the summer: Jewelry, handbags, shoes whatever ~ the color POPS against a tan. Turquoise is fantastic as well ~ and how about this vintage 1970's cocktail ring. Summer's calling............

Please check out my sidebar for the White Wednesday Link hosted by the fabulous Faded Charm.

Summer Lovin'

Linking up with Faded Charm for White Wednesday and Show & Tell Friday @ My Romantic Home (links on sidebar) to show you some goodies.

I know we are having a heat wave here in Connecticut ~ but I am diggin' it! No, I don't live on the shore or have a glorious inground pool ~ I just love the hot. We don't get it all the time here, so when it finally comes, I am like a cockroach ~ I thrive.

So, yesterday (after making brownies & tater salad for a later picnic) I decided that new photos for French Bleu Vintage were needed. I have soooo many new (old) things from the Flea etc. just getting stockpiled. Time to show & tell:

Lookie at this old gal ~ fantastic doesn't describe her. I always wanted a Santos figurine but they were SO expensive. Plus I could never tell if they were really vintage or just a $$$ catalog knockoff. Now, I could be wrong, but I think She is authentic. The wood is really worn down, dirt still in her face, a tad wobbly - plus I have no idea where her arms are. I also got a lesson in her history. Apparently, the skirt fabric color would be changed by the Parish workers to coincide with a particular religious celebration. Also, no hair because she had a real hair wig with halo once. The wings did not come with Her. I actually found them a few tables away and the woman gave me a great deal so home they came. Im not sure I am sold on them even though they look perfect.

Also, I am loving this "Home Sweet Home" sign SO much that I bought 3 for the shop and one for me. The rusty metal accent just makes it POP!

I have had these fantastic Collage Art Charms, made by a local collage artist, in the storage room for so long and never got around to listing them ~ what is wrong with me??? They are great. I especially love the "NEST" charm. I just realized how much bird themed items I have. I think I need a whole department just for them.

Forecast says is going to be another scorcher here ~99 really is pretty hot for CT (although I know some of you live in areas where that is downright chilly:) but now I am kind of wiped out. I think I'm going to stay inside the nice a/c for awhile and catch up on my blog reading and list some new items. I do feel a little guilty about that, the kids are home and no work today. I guess I'll give in and let them play video games until the caffeine kicks in.
