Sharing some pretties

Happy Saturday ~

One of the last few remaining of the Summer.  I just wanted to share some pretty photos I took yesterday of new items for the shop. Sometimes I think that styling the items for photographing is my favorite part of the job.
Check out this gorgeous French Enamelware trivet
Then I wake up at dawn on a Saturday and realize - Nope - its still the thrill of the hunt at the Flea Market:):)
What is it about Blue & White pottery that makes us swoon anyway?

Honestly, who would give these drawer pulls away???
Well, since I have finished my cup of tea, that can only mean one thing...

"Release the Hounds" ~ I'm off on the Hunt.

Have a great weekend everyone ~ Dee XO

Vintage Stemware

Perrier Jouet hand painted French champagne flutes
I have always had a a thing for vintage stemware. Whether it is cut crystal, etched, clear, pink or pale blue. Years ago, a fledgling collector, I would gravitate to the .50 single stem at a yard sale or the Goodwill that was just so gorgeous, I had to have it.  It would be added to my collection of "pretty things". Today, I still have many of them and set a rather lovely, although, eclectic table when entertaining.
Pink Empress stemware with 24k etched detailing
I have expanded my sights a bit these days and tend to gravitate towards a more complete set to sell at the shop.

They are fabulous to use as anything from soap dishes, jewelry holders, or elegant tea light holders to sorbet dessert glasses, and are just as chic at an intimate picnic for 2 as a champagne toast for 50.

I can almost taste the lemon sorbet with lavender in these glasses
These are just a few I have sold at French Bleu Vintage recently. My favorite were the Pink Empress (they lasted about 1 day in the store) before a savvy shopper scooped them up.

I will keep adding to my collection of "one of a kind" cast-offs. Although, it is getting increasingly more difficult in a world of Pottery Barn barware sets, to convince my husband that my way is truly more lovely and appreciated, if not slightly just off.

4 Months and counting

Yipes! What a rude awakening I had this morning. I received 3 emails regarding Holiday ads that need to be placed in magazines, asap. "Surely they are mistaken, I thought, I have plenty of time". Its no secret that I am the worlds worst procrastinator (Mr. Vintage is 2nd in line as evidenced by our kitchen re-model - the one that will never happen:)

Nope, its true ~ I do NOT have plenty of time. I needed to pull out those photos I have been saving and get right to work. I could never work for a magazine.

Im sure most have you have already started your Holiday planning and shopping. I have not. But this year I vow that I will  not start in December. More like October, when I can at least throw a sweater on to go shopping instead of browsing the shops in my beach cover-up. Also, the gifts will be meaningful. Fun little trinkets and bits that I find in my travels. Not the snowman soaps or pre-made gift baskets that I count on at the last minute. Also, to shop locally. These little in town businesses need all the help they can get.

Well those 4 months are gonna fly by quickly, so Im off like a prom dress. Those twinkly lights don't hang themselves up you know!

Have a great week
